با جواب به این سوال می توان فهمید که در واقع بیشتر هدفمندان هم بی هدف بوده اند! چون براستی در انتها هم به آن دست نیافته اند. در واقع آدمیان به دنبال کمال و سعادت مطلق اند ولی بسیاری از آنها راه رسیدن به این مهم را یا گم کرده اند ویا اصلا نمی دانند. عقلشان با تجملات و لذات دنیوی فریفته شده است و دایما یا در حال جمع آوری مال و منالنند ویا به ارتقاء متعلقاتشان می اندیشند و شکوه ظاهری چشمشان را چنان خیره و کور می سازد که دیگر شامه خود را برای درک رایحه عشق واقعی از دست میدهند.

اینها ماهیت زندگی را در سایه های رونده فانی می جویند در حالی که چشمشان از نوری که این سایه ها را پدید آورده کور است. سایه ها بزرگ و بزرگتر می شوند و بر آنها ظلمتی می افکند که دیگر حتی نیم سایه ای هم از نور الهی به آنها نمی رسد.
