Saif’s too heavy for Farhan’s pocket

After Hrithik Roshan refused to do a cameo in his film, Farhan Akhtar was in for yet another shock recently. This time from good old friend Saif Ali Khan, whose career turned around on its head solely due to Farhan’s Dil Chahta Hai.

But flush with his recent super stardom, Saif quoted a humongous price even to Farhan that upset the filmmaker no end. “After having given a super successful film Dil Chahta Hai, Farhan wanted Saif to work with him again in his forthcoming venture. However, it came as a major shock to him when Saif quoted a price which Farhan’s pockets could not afford,” says a mole.

What’s more, the source adds, “Saif quoted a cool Rs15 crore saying that it is lesser than what he usually charges other producers. Despite requests, he refused to do the film for anything less than Rs12 crore which certainly irked Farhan.

So, he has now opted to go ahead without Saif as a part of his next project.” Now we know why they say that friendship is only a matter of convenience in Bollywood; real friendship is, but a thing of films.
