Desperate for something else to do

There's a big high pressure system over the west coast and it is getting warmer and sunnier (and drier) every day. What do you do when California is experiencing drought conditions and the Central Valley is in a temperature inversion and the air quality is getting worse? You escape to the foothills. If you're a big-time road-tripper, you pack your shorts and sunglasses and head to L.A. But you can probably do just fine 'round here in the local hills.
There's great pizza in Shaver Lake. There's arts and crafts and coffee at the Purple Cow Mall in Oakhurst. It's cold outside, so I imagine leaving your car and hiking would be best on the the valley floor-level Parkway Trail from Woodward Park to Lost Lake. It's possible comfortable temperatures could be enjoyed on trails going up south-facing slopes if you go into the hills.
Got sudden vacation today due to slow work volume, but it's paid since I have vacation time. Nice, huh? To be paid, yes, but slow work volume, I don't know. Things are getting really bad. But I'm desperate for something to do tomorrow! My photostream is going, I'll post pics. See the link to my photostream, "Niiicedave's Photostream", in the sidebar.
