خوب: صفت هر آنچه که سبب ایجاد احساس مثبت در ذهن شود.

بد: صفت هر آنچه که سبب ایجاد احساس منفی در ذهن شود.

عقل: معیار و میزانی برای سنجش و تمیز دادن خوب و بد.

تجربه: نتیجه و علم بدست آمده از اعمال، محفوظ در حافظه انسان.

درک: استنباط و فهم پدیده ها با مدد قوه تعقل و مجموعه ای از تجارب.

حس: اغلب منظور یکی از حواس ذاتی انسانهاست که از آن برای ارتباط با دنیای خارج و درک تعاملات موجود در آن استفاده می کنند.

احساس: ماهیتی غریب که تحلیل آن پیچیده است و درک شهودی آن با کمک عقل و تجربه در افراد مختلف است. معمولا با تعریف یک سری احساسات به عنوان احساسات بنیادی و اصولی برخی دیگر را به صورت ترکیبی از آنها بیان می کنند ولی درین روش ضعف زیادی وجود دارد و به طور قطعی به هیچ عنوان نمی توان حرف زد. (نه لازم نه کافی)

زندگی: زنده ماندن به معنای درک وجود مادی در دنیا!

هدف: عقل با کمک تجربه در طی زمان به برخی احساسات بهای مثبت بیشتری می دهد و در هر برهه زمانی می توان بر این اساس هدف اصلی را دستیابی به احساسات مثبت تر دانست.

ارضا: عقل ارضای مطلق را نفی می کند ولی در حد نسبی می توان رسیدن یا داشتن احساس مثبت را نوعی ارضا نسبی دانست.

- زندگی چندان دلچسب نیست تا هنگامی که به دنبال هدف نیاید. هدف مطلوب غیرمحال و دست نیافتنی است یعنی در عین حال که می توان برای رسیدن به آن تلاش کرد ولی نتوان بدان رسید. ارضای نفسی وجود ندارد هرچه هست ارضای متقابل است. اگر همگان اینگونه فکر کنند ارضا متقابل هم توهم است و ارضایی وجود ندارد جز ...
