This following is a comment posted to HuffPost article, titled "Someone Please..."
Original comment:
Dukakis was just plain lame and could only have possibly won by going extremely nasty and negative and slipping zombie juice into America's water. Obama is good enough to win without going the traditional negative campaigning or sleezebag smirky, cynical rhetorical game playing, things Bill Clinton and W were very skillful at, things Hillary was really learning to do by the time she finally dropped out. Obama is a very strong candidate because of his message and, if you just watch his moves, he inspires great confidence with his steady style that gently is building his base to critical mass. He will make a fantastic President.
Update: Lame? Oops, lousy word choice, being lame means "disabled." I meant to say "Dukakis just plain sucked."
This was a comment posted this article, which listed what was wrong with Senator Biden from Delaware, while forgetting what was wrong with Hillary, now that he is Obama's running mate selection.
Original comment:
Wow, I remember that crack Biden made about Indians owning all the 7-11's. Well, we all have stuff we need to get out of our system, our affection for the character Apu on The Simpsons notwithstanding. Shame, but we all need to get that kind of stuff out of our system as a country and as individuals and flush it down. Bomb-Bomb-Bomb Bomb-Bomb Iran, says McCain. Talk-talk-talk, talk with Iran, says Obama. Couldn't be clearer which person is the real leader. The Clintons are no longer synonymous with victory. Having Bill in your campaign is no longer box office gold. That's a myth. Bill, by the way, has a lot of stuff to get out of his system too as we've all found out while following his rants on the campaign trail. And his recent "non-endorsement" of Obama's leadership ability? So small-headed it's breathtaking. To think Bill Clinton was a great president is to forget his presidency. Sure, the economy hummed along... on credit. Hillary has some astonishing issues too: shame on her, tacitly supporting those racist emails about Obama being a secret muslim. At that point I was fed up. Both Clintons have had their supporters in a trance, but once that trance is broken they wake up and small what Obama is cooking.
I know. I was once one of those rabid Clinton supporters.
Note sent to Senator Joe Biden via barackobma.com:
I've proudly been backing Barack since he announced in late 2007. You are hereby forgiven for that "son of a coal miner" speech that was plagiarized, for which in this household you were heretofore known and never seriously considered as a choice for President. But Barack would have us know you are far more than that and would in fact make a superb President if God forbid it were necessary for you to step in. To me, running with Barack is a no-brainer, but you are Democrat in service for nearly 40 years, and I admire your courage for being part of this ticket. Welcome aboard, Joe!
Comment I posted to my facebook friend Phil Attey, who is a rabid Obama supporter.
"HOPE=VOTE! We want CHANGE, not just from the last 8 years but also every day, hour and second of Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Bush, who used their powers to "privatize" millions of Americans from equal access to health care, education, housing and jobs, and regularly corrupted our core beliefs as a nation in human rights, equal rights and world peace. "You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...""
