Wow, that Andean Folklorio I uploaded a few days ago didn't perform so well on the air, but I never give up on world music!

In the 19th, I uploaded the following (minus the tracks I deleted after their first play)
1. John Mellencamp - Rural Route - Freedom's Road (2007)
2. Carlos Guedes & Desvio - churun meru - Churun Meru (1990)
3. Audiovent - One Small Choice - Dirty, Sexy Knights In Paris (2002)
4. Muchachito Bombo Infierno - Ponganlo Facil - Visto Lo Visto (2007)
5. Magnetophone - Kel's Vintage Thought (Out Hud Rmx) - DJ-Kicks: The Glimmers
6. Chyi Yu - Walking in the Rain - The Olive Tree (1979)
7. Rahim Alhaj - Taqsim Maqam

Do you plan to vote in the United States' general election?
No, out of protest
Yes, I always vote in every election
No, cannot vote (religion, probation)
No, I feel democracy is fake and controlled
Yes, this election is too important to sit out

The Brother Resistance song is part of an expensive quest to find music selections played on the early 90s KPFA (Pacifica) radio program "Rhythm Drive", the Wednesday edition with David McBernie, a Trini DJ who still plays Soca Calypso music from the annual carnival down there called, uh, Trinidad Carnival. I recorded his show to a cassette tape and played it over and over and over, and I lament that in Calypso time, that music is so old, not even the genre exists anymore! They're now doing this dancehall crap with violent lyrics - no steel drums at all. But going back to the early 90s Soca music, one of the best songs was this Brother Resistance song just joyously ranting Trini-style about all the usual goings on, joblessness, poverty and hunger. The version David played on his show wasn't the one I was seeking, but it's a nice version from a greatest hits compilation from Germany.

I have to work all week and I'm currently missing the Fresno Lesbian Gay Bi Transgender Film Festival, as usual. I'm wondering of any of the great festival flicks can viewed online.

Rob Zombie - Death Of It All / Ride - Educated Horses - 2006 Heavy Metal
Corvus Corax - Barentanz - Live - 1998 Gaelic Celtic Scots
Brother Resistance - Witness - When De Riddum Explode - 1990 Soca
Sumaj Rumi - Falso Amor - Ayrachi - Folklorico Andino
Ambrosia - St. Tropez Tango - Neo:Tango - 2005 Lo-Fi
Lord Belial - Unorthodox Catharsis - The Black Curse - 2008 Black Metal
Five Finger Death Punch - Never Enough - The Way Of The Fist - 2007 Metal
