China is making everything for the U.S. domestic market, from toilet paper to big screen TV's. The Chinese do it by combining cheap labor with the plunder of raw materials from poor countries. Plunder is a very old problem. It fueled the industrial revolution in Europe and America, and now it's doing the same for China.

Official state religions are mostly a thing of the past. There's Israel, there's the Kingdoms of the Middle East, there's Iran. Under Communism, the state went atheist, and the people had to be atheist as well. Today we have separation of church and state plus religious freedom. Once upon a time the Catholic Church was an official state religion. Now it is just another church. But it still has the same Byzantine and Roman structure of priests, monks, nuns, bishops, archbishops and The Pope. Married only to God and forbidden from consensual adult-with-adult sex, these men could freely molest their favorite boys still think themselves without sin.
