Storm #8

Storm # 8 came through yesterday. A lot of storms so far this year, no?, all so weak none has cracked the .33 inch of precipitation level. It rained about 20 minutes - very lightly - and it was over. I'd guesstimate we got about .07 of an inch yesterday.
Storms usually break up the fog and low clouds in the valley long before the rain band arrives, but in the case of this storm, the front itself arrived and pushed the fog and low clouds, temperature inversion completely intact, ahead of it like a snowplow. Now THAT'S a weak cold front. I enhanced the picture above. It shows the cloud band arriving overhead and the fog and low clouds getting "pushed" down the valley.
The storm was caught in the storm-killing north to south overhead wind, a very bad storm pattern for generating California rain. And bad news! La NiƱa is back. The storms may stop coming through altogether.
