Also, here's storms 18-19 for the weekend [Update -- it's just storm 18 -- one storm]

Update: tonight, Feb. 15, 2009, the major California storm I call Storm 18 is the biggest weather event in all the vast area pictured above from the 16 mile high satellite, and handily held that title even when still well out at sea. Fresno still awaits the start of rainfall, but I went and experienced a great rainstorm in a drive to Santa Cruz today. Check out the pictures of my California Adventure right here!

Here in the San Joaquin Valley, the only place without warnings up regarding the new storm -- it'a beautiful day with a storm southerly breeze and bright, saturating sun, with a gorgeous view of the Sierra Nevada as the storm clouds begin the gather over them, first along the nothern horizon and then spreading south. The Coast Range is all fixed up for 2-5 inches of rain by Monday.

Wet weekend in store. Winter storms in the mountains, with the worst Winter conditions in the northern Calif. Coastal Ranges, the Trinity Alps and Siskiyou Mountains (home to Bigfoot). Down here Fresno way, more good rains Saturday night into Sunday. Howling gales off the coast. No high surf warnings, though, like there were yesterday. But the gale wind area might be fun to road trip to over the weekend.
