Ending Health Care Bankruptcy

On a recent PBS FRONTLINE, five universal health care systems were compared for Americans looking for a modern health care system of their own: Britain, Japan, Germany, Taiwan and Switzerland. Each were born under different circumstances and vary from private but moderately regulated, to private but highly regulated, to almost completely government-run. Two countries, Switzerland and Taiwan, adopted universal health care plans relatively recently, in the 1990s. Each has pluses and minuses, and some have interesting imperfections. In all the countries the bottom line is medical bankruptcies have been eliminated as worry for the people while freeing precious GDP capital into the economy.
