Pump, baby, pump!
I am appalled by all these so-called "water rallies" and marches by forces seeking to destroy our valley's precious Delta and river system.
A big crowd showed up to hear ignorant speeches that were nothing but rants against environmentalism.
Not every year has the same amount of rain. When the rains return, so will the farming operations of the west side, except in the cases where unproductive acres of farmland have been created by salt buildup due to over-irrigation.
Farming will return. A delta not saved is lost forever. It is just as important as the farms. It is a huge spawning area for wild fish. I'm sorry, but salmon is a lot more delicious than government-subsidized cotton.
This is not a fight for water -- it's a fight against the environment. It's a relic of the Reagan era.
